Luana
Origin of the name: Daughter of the Moon (Tupi-Guarani)
Occupation: Shaman of Trumai
Height: 1.62 m
Weight: 50 kg
Age: 23 years old
Eyes: The left eye is a grayish green and the right is the color of honey.

Story

When she was a child, Luana was a calm girl, not much different from any of the other children. Daughter of a simple working couple, she would run around the village, playing and studying with the other children.

One of the young girl’s most striking characteristics was her intelligence. The astuteness of the youth could be noted throughout the day; from her questions in class to the games she invented.

One day, an incident changed Luana’s life; her grandmother wasn’t feeling too well after coming back from the wilds of Trumai, where she had gone to gather a few mites. Unsure of what to do, Luana ran desperately to the hut of a young magician to ask for help. The young boy promptly followed her to where the old lady was and soon identified the problem: she had been bitten by a venomous insect. With the help of a few medicinal plants, and a little magic, the old woman recovered in less than an hour.

After that frightful episode, Luana became intrigued by the way the young boy had helped her grandmother. And so she decided: she wanted to be able to help people the way the boy had. Not exactly sure what to say, the girl asked:

“– What is your name? And what did you do to save my grandmother?”

The youth responded:

“– My name is Cauré. I’m a natural magician. All I did was a ritual that helped your grandmother’s body defend itself against the venom.”

From that day on, the young girl, who was only 8 years old, decided to dedicate herself to her studies and follow in the steps of the young magician.

And that was the start of the career of one of the best magicians Trumai ever had. The girl’s ability to assimilate the teachings of her master was astounding and she managed to master the knowledge in reference to three areas of magic, while her school mates specialized in just one.

Besides her intelligence, the good nature and disposition of the young lady earned her acknowledgement in society. Soon, and quite naturally, Luana became the first woman in Trumai to gain the position of shaman.

Personality

The shaman of Trumai is a very talkative and charismatic person. She treats everyone with great care, only altering her tone of voice when it becomes very necessary. Some villagers believe her words calm and transmit peace to the people who hear them.

She has the ability to catch the attention of people while talking; a very useful characteristic for a counselor of a village as large as Trumai.

Whenever a situation calls for interaction with the villagers, Luana takes the lead and steers the conversation, along with Cauré, the lord of the village.

Despite practicing Capoeira, Luana doesn’t have much training in the arts of war. The shaman appreciates Capoeira as a dance and avoids using it as a form of attack at all costs. Her expertise in combat is limited to her own self defense, with her efficiency in conflicts relying mainly on the use of magic.

Abilities

Luana knows all the Mura rituals, often practicing them together with the lord of the village.

Besides her huge talent as a magician, the shaman has mastered the art of ancestral dancing which is used for communicating with the forces of nature.
